The QC is a sea snail famous as a regionwide delicacy. The stock has collapsed due to gross overfishing.
This project aims to work with local artisanal fishermen to restore conch populations and to develop a sustainable conch fishery in the bay. This will be achieved by involving fishermen in every aspect of the restoration and fishery development, effectively making them into empowered and informed custodians of their resources. They will not only benefit through payment for their services but ultimately from a sustainable fishery.
